We have decided to extend the time on our current auction for three more months. Up for auction is this beautiful hand made birch coffee table.

This table was hand crafted by Bill Cobb in Townshend, VT using locally grown wood. Minimum bid is $50. This auction will close at our October 21, 2010 meeting.

Thank you to all that attended last weekend’s work party. We had a great turnout and got a lot done. We had 24 members turnout to work on Saturday and 15 on Sunday. The trails were in much better shape this spring than last but there was still plenty to do. We had some trees down across the trails in a few locations, plenty of prickers and other brush to trim back, sticks and rocks to move out of the trails and water bars to fix up. We got most of it cleaned up this last weekend but there is still some to be done. With any luck and another good turnout, we should be able to have it all done this coming weekend.
On Saturday, we drew the winner of this years free Club & VASA membership raffle. Congratulations to Seth Mann of the hunting club! And thank you to everyone else who participated in the raffle.
I have posted some photos from Sat 4/24 on the photos page under 2010. We should have some more up there once I get copies from the other folks that had cameras out there.
Come join us this coming Sat/Sun for the next work party. We should be able to get some riding in as well since many of the trails are already finished. The more people that turn out, the quicker the work will get done and the more time we will have to ride on the freshly cleaned trails!
And remember, on Sunday after the work is done, there will be a club sponsored cookout as a thank you for your hard work. Bring whatever you’d like to drink and a salad or chips to share. The club will provide the burgers, dogs and buns.

SVTR will hold our first work parties on the following dates:
Sat/Sun Apr 24/25th.
Sat/Sun May 1/2nd.
We will work to clean up the dead fall from the past winter, clean out culverts, fix up water bars and access the trail conditions in anticipation of opening the trails in early May.
Club memberships and trail access stickers will be available at the Joy Brook trail head on the mornings of the work parties.
There will be a cookout at the end of the May 2nd work party for those that turn out to help. Bring your own drinks. SVTR will provide the hot dogs.
