BBQ fundraiser on Friday evening July 30th

Hello,

In a time when it is critically important to get involved with how this state is being run we have the opportunity to help an individual I believe can make a difference as our next Secretary of State. I have had the privilege to witness the work that Jason Gibbs did as Commissioner of Forest, Parks & Recreation, making changes to longstanding and outdated policies to create a leaner, more efficient Department.

Craig Vance and I will be hosting a small BBQ fundraiser on Friday evening July 30th at 6pm. The event will be held at the Curtis Vance Memorial Orchard in North Danville. If you are able to make it to this event and would like to participate in a short ATV ride prior to the BBQ we will be leaving at 4pm from the Orchard and should return around 5:30 for dinner, please RSVP me if interested. Coming from Danville:

Turn at intersection by Diamond Hill store onto Bruce Badger Memorial HWY and go for about 5 miles until you have gotten to North Danville village. At the church, take a left onto McReynolds road for a short ways then take a right onto North Church road. Stay on that road for about 2 miles and you will see a long driveway on your left that says Curtis Vance Memorial Drive.

SVTR Work Party / Brush Cutback

Thanks to everyone who has turned out the  last few weekends to help with the brush cutback.  We got a lot done but we still have a bit more to do.  Trails 5, 13 and 10 are up next and we are planning another work party this coming Saturday 7/24.  As usual, we will meet at the Joy Brook trail head at 9Am and assign tasks.  Bring drinks and a lunch or visit the Stuffed Bun for lunch.

We look forward to seeing you on the trail.

Poker Run starts at 10am from Wayne’s Snack Bar.  Chicken BBQ at Wayne’s Snack Bar & Pizza at 6pm.  Raffle drawing for ATV Wagon at 7:30pm

ATV Wagon Raffle tickets: $10 ea. or 3 for $25  ATV Wagon Retail Value: $1999.99 (do not need to be present to win)

1st Annual Poker Run: $10 Entry Fee.  1st Place Prize: $100, 2nd Place: $75, 3rd Place: $50

Food for sale along Poker Run at the Conservation Land.

3rd Annual ATV Rodeo – Top of the World ATV Club

Top of the World ATV Club is holding their 3rd Annual ATV Rodeo on Aug 14th and 15th at Mitchell Road in Concord VT. “Follow the signs”  Overnight camping available.  Helmets required for all ATV events.

ATV Pull, Mud Bog, Poker Run, Hot Dog Grab.

Games for all ages.

DJ Saturday Night

FOOD: Hot Dogs, Hamburgers, Italian Sausage, French Fries, Fried Dough and more!!!

SVTR Member and Landowner Appreciation Day 2010

SVTR Member and Landowner Appreciation Day 2010

This Thursday 7/15 is the clubs member and landowner appreciation day. The club will provide pizza for all attendees. Bring your own drinks with you (No alcoholic beverages please). We will gather at the Newbrook Fire Station as usual at 7pm. The meeting will start around 7:20-7:30 after everyone has had some pizza.

We just got word that due to her political responsibilities, Susan Bartlett will not be able to attend our meeting this month.

Lloyd will be sending out an adgenda for the meeting tonight or tomorrow along with a topic or two to think about before the meeting.

Some info from VASA regarding the Aug 8, 2010 Mount Washington ride:

* Tickets will be sold at the bottom from 8am through 1pm.
* Tickets are valid for 1 trip up and down the mountain. There is an undisclosed penalty for anyone caught making multiple trips per ticket. You CAN purchase another trip as long as it is before 1pm.
* All machines must have a valid state registration and a valid VASA registration properly displayed.
* All operators must have a valid driver’s license.
* Passengers only permitted on factory 2-Up or Side By Side machines.
* All operators & passengers must wear helmets.

SVTR Work Party / Trail Cutback.

Also, don’t forget, we have a club meeting this coming Thursday 7/15 at the Newbrook Fire Station in Newfane, VT.  We are looking for a good turnout for this meeting as we may have a special guest visiting for the meeting.

Work Party – Trail Cutback

SVTR Secretary and Trail Boss, Ray Leeman is organizing a work party for the weekend of 7/10, 7/11 to cut back the brush and briers on trails 1, 5, 11 and trail 13 if there is enough time.  Tools needed will be Gloves, loppers, weed whackers and pole saws.  Chain saws are not needed.  Work party will meet at the Joy Brook trail head at 9am on 4/10 and 4/11.  Individual assignments will be determined when we meet in the morning. Pack a lunch and drinks or visit the Stuffed Bun for lunch.
