Work Party – Sat Sept 11, 2010

svtr_work_partyJust a reminder that we have a work party scheduled for this Saturday Sept 11, 2010.  We will be finishing up the brush cutback at the lower end of trails 7 and 11 and we also have work to be done on the new landing.  As usual, we will meet at the Joy Brook landing at 9am  and head out from there.  Pack a lunch or visit the Stuffed Bun.

VT Trail Symposium

Hello Friends!

It’s time to mark your calendar for the 2010 Vermont Trail Symposium!

We’re so excited to be planning this event for October 16th and 17th at the NorthWoods Stewardship Center! See our poster below for the details!

We’re asking you to help spread the word by printing out the poster and hanging it up anywhere you think would attract trail enthusiasts and professionals. There’s something for everyone! We’re offering workshops on Hybrid Trail Contracting, Universally Accessible Trails, Wetland Crossings, the Recreation Trail Program grant process, and much, much more! On Saturday night, the band Phineas Gage will be putting on a great show- make sure to bring your dancing shoes!Don’t forget to plan on trying out a new trail activity on Sunday: canoeing, mountain biking, even ATV rides! Sat 8/21 Work Party canceled and rescheduled.

We have canceled the planned work party for this Saturday8/21 and are rescheduling it for Saturday Sept 11.  Tasks planned include: Trail cutback on trails 1, 6, 7, 11 and work on new picnic area and new landing.

Trails Closed – Saturday August 28, 2010

SVTR Members and friends,

Please be aware that the SVTR Trails will be closed for the day on Saturday August 28 for a horse ride event being sponsored by our land owner. Our trails will reopen on the morning of Sunday August 29.
