Happy Columbus Day Weekend !!!

This sounds like alot of fun.

Also tomorrow Sunday Oct.12 A small group of riders are planning to come down to our trails for a ride. (3 to 6 ) riders. So if any one who knows the trails and is interested to show them around a little. They plan to arrive around 9:30 or 10:00.

As for me it looks like a perfict weather weekend to set up staging and start putting up roof rafters.

To all our riders members and friends I wish you all a very safe holiday weekend. Both on the trails and on the roads…

Autumn is here.  The trees are turning their beautiful fall colors, the bugs are all but gone and now is a great time to get out and enjoy the trails.  Make sure to bring your camera when you ride!!

Reminder: BMAC Trails Closed.

Reminder,

VASA/Birdseye Mountain ATV Club Trails on Birdseye Mt. are closed for the duration of hunting season in Vt., starting Wednesday October 1, 2008.

There are two exceptions;

The Trails will be open October 12, 2008 for the BMAC “Last Hoorah” Fall Foliage ATV Ride and Pig Roast.

The second exception is pre approved organized trail work.

Please check the VASA website for dates of other clubs trail closing.

Newport trails closing October 1st

September 2008 Meeting Report

Topics discussed at this months meeting included:

  • SVTR.NET Website
    It was decided that the new website (this site) will be put on hold until the existing site expires in June ’09.  The current site maintainer will be notified of this plan and the option offered to give up the current position prior to June.  If the current maintainer opts to give up the site prior to June then this site will go live before then.
  • Bridge Replacement project
    The Joy Brook ridge replacement is on hold until spring ’09.  More planning work and research needs to be done before we proceed.  VASA funding for the bridge project is in question at this time.
  • Donation to Newbrook Fire Dept.
    As motion was passed to make a $400 donation to the fire dept. for the use of their facilities as our meeting location.  This amount is up from $300 donated last year.
  • Donation to SEVCA.
    A motion passed to donate $50 to SEVCA matching last years donation.
  • Club T-Shirts/Sweatshirts.
    More discussion about club shirts.  Lloyd will get pricing on various sweatshirt options using our current club shirt design.  A new design will be investigated next year.
  • 2009 Mt. Washington Ride.
    The 2009 Mt. Washington ride is scheduled for August 2nd. 2009.
  • More ATV Training events.
    We have received the name of a federally certified ATV instructor that is interested in helping us with future training events.  We talked about doing several more events during the 2009 season.  One or more of these events may include training for the Newbrook Fire Dept and possibly some other depts as well.
  • Work parties.
    No recent work parties had been planned.  A number of the trails are suffering from this summers extreme briar growth and need to be trimmed back.  Culverts need to be cleaned out prior to the first freeze or snowfall.  If you are interested in forming a work party, contact the Trail boss or Lloyd.
  • VASA annual meeting – Jan 10, 2009
    The VASA Annual meeting is coming up on Jan 10, 2009.  You are welcome to attend.  Come meet the VASA folks and have your chance to voice your opinions or concerns.  Visit the VASA Website for more details.

The meeting started at 7:15 and ended at 8:10.  The 50/50 raffle pot was $27  Next meeting will be Thursday Oct 16, 2008.  Hope to see you there.
