Unfortunately I just got off the phone with the representative from Topsham and they will not be coming for a ride on our trails this weekend.

So this weekends ride is canceled.

But if any of you want to enjoy the trails this weekend, please feel free to Bring your own lunch and have a good time…

I apologize for the short notice.

Hope to see you at the next SVTR meeting this Thursday night at 7pm At the Newbrook fire station , in Newfane Vt.

Important Meeting Information

SVTR Members

August 21st, Thursday night at 7:00pm is our next club meeting at the Newbrook fire station in Newfane Vt.

We will have allot to be discussed.

Unfortunately Joe Reynolds our treasurer is stepping down from office. So at our next meeting we will be excepting Nominations for the office of Treasure of the SVTR. If anyone is interested. Please let me know and come to our next meeting.

Also remember we are hosting a club ride this weekend with the riders from Topsham this Saturday Aug 23rd Please bring a dish to share and the club will supply the burgers and dogs… So if you want to have fun riding our trails and meeting other members of VASA .Than come and have a great time!!! ( Ps. Don’t forget your wheeler )

Please check the VASA website it’s new and better than before. While there VASA is posting a survey asking if you the members of VASA think it should be mandatory to ware helmets on VASA trails. Your input here is very important.

Also I told the members of the Board of Directors of VASA that I would forward the following information on to the SVTR members.

Vermont Off Road Association (VORA) is looking for ATV members. VORA is made up of off-road pick-ups. jeeps, dirt bikes, and ATVers, getting together to hopefully add to the number of people to stand before the state to help gain trails on State and Federal lands. I believe there membership cost is $10.00 per member… Person to contact is Anah Tuttle at anah@tops-tel.com .

These are all things that we will be discussing at our next meeting. I hope many of you will be able to attend… We will be having a 50/50 raffle drawing at the end of the meeting…

IMPORTANT MT. WASHINGTON INFO!!!!

Hello Everyone,

I was notified today that New Hampshire DOES NOT have reciprocity with New York. This means that VASA members who have New York registrations WILL NOT BE ABLE TO GO UP MT. WASHINGTON. I am trying to get in touch with everyone who has NY registrations to let them know. Please help me spread the word! I don’t want anyone to show up who cannot go on the ride. Sorry for the inconvenience. Please call the office if you have questions.

Westshire / West Fairlee Ride Next Weekend.

A couple weeks ago I sent an E-mail out asking if anyone was interested in riding in the West Fairlee Vt. area…

You will be meeting with Bruce and Gloria then riding for awhile then ride your ATV to the next town over then For $10 a plate you’ll get a BBQ Chicken dinner ( with all the fixing’s) then back on the ATV’s for a little more Riding…

Send me or Gloria a response please if your interested By Tuesday so that they may make there plans…

VOW Announces Fourth Annual Doe Camp Abnaki For Women

Interest in nature based recreation and outdoor skill development is growing amongst women. As role models and hard working mothers, women deserve a weekend of play and skill building all to themselves!

By popular demand, Vermont Outdoors Woman (VOW) announces their Fourth Annual Doe Camp Abnaki in North Hero on September 12-14th.

Sponsored by Vermont Fish and Wildlife, Waitsfield Telecom, VASA, Camp Abnaki, Friends of the NRA and many other organizations and instructors, Doe Camp Abnaki will offer an exciting, educational and fun weekend where participants can choose from over 35 courses such as fishing, archery, wilderness survival, firearm safety, kayaking, biking, orienteering and more!

Participants, 18 and up, stay in cabins on the shores of Lake Champlain and spend the day in a series of educational and fun workshops. At night, relax by the campfire with new and old friends.

Camp Abnaki is a great place to get a group of friends or family together and bunk up with the ladies for a weekend.  Women of all abilities are encouraged to come with an adventurous spirit and curious mind!

Many Doe Camp Abnaki participants have praised their experience in the past. One Doe Camper said, ” My daughters and I had a fantastic time. Everything was great… the courses, food, venue, campfires, weather and the friendly and knowledgeable volunteers… It’s absolutely true, “One weekend lasts a lifetime.” It will for us.”
