Hello SVTR Friends and members,
This Saturday June 29, we will be holding a work party and club cookout at our Jamaica VT trailhead. The plan is to cut back brush along the upper section and power line sections of our primary loop trail and prepare for the work to be done by Dave Gilderdale and the VASA equipment later in July. If we have a good enough turnout, we will dispatch a group or two to scout new trail opportunities.
If you would like to join us, we plan to start around 9 am on Saturday and head up the trail to work. Tools for the day will be loppers, hand saws maybe a chain saw or two, rakes and shovels.
We will fire up the big grill around noon and plan to be ready to eat by 1pm. After lunch plan to ride and see the difference made by our mornings efforts and explore the history offered by our trails system.
Bring your own drinks and feel free to bring a dish to share with the group. The club will provide hamburgers, hotdogs and buns.
Come explore what the new SVTR trail system has to offer. There are lots of ancient foundations, wells, stone walls, roads and even an ancient cemetery to see on our new trails.
We look forward to seeing you this coming weekend!
