October Trails Update

Hello SVTR Members and friends.

Here is the October trails update.

We had another successful work party this last weekend.  We got all of trail 6 cut back and cleaned up.  There were also a few large trees that came down across a couple of trails during the last storm that we cleared.  Ray Leeman asked me to pass on a special “Thank You!” to all that turned out to help.

There is still a little bit of work to be done before the season officially closes on October 31st.  We need to clear a little on trail #1 and just a little at the bottom of trail #11.  We are planning to get this done at our next work party on Saturday October 16th.

On October 30th we are having our end of season work party and cookout at the Joy Brook landing.  We are going to do a little work on the access road to the landing and clean up around the landing.  Some of the roadway washed out earlier this year and we need to fill in the washed areas and smooth it out a bit.  We are also planning a cookout and ride that day.  Please bring a dish to share and join us for a nice late October ride before the trails close.

Trail Boss Ray Leeman has asked that anyone that does any work on the trails, please report that work to Ray so that he can keep track of what is done and what still needs to be done.  Also, if you come across anything in the trail that you cant take care of, let Ray know so that we can get it on the schedule for a work party. Ray can be reached at: (203) 937-6028 or via email.
