President’s report:
We are in the process of setting up some rides at other club’s trails. Tentative rides are:
Northeast Kingdom Wheelers: July 17, 2010
Top of the World ATV: September 18, 2010
Bennington: May 22, 2010 (Not confirmed yet)
VASA Affairs:
VASA is still looking for people to help with the ATV safety courses.
VASA Budget review is in progress. To be finalized in June.
There was some discussion of setting up a virtual meeting system using webcams for some of the VASA meetings. The subject was dismissed due to costs.
VASA is now accepting proposals from clubs for connector trails. Two proposals will be selected from the submissions to be considered for the test trails across state lands.
VASA has decided to keep the annual meeting in January.
Reciprocity with New Hampshire has officially ended.
Old Business:
Ed Smith stepped down as SVTR’s Vice President. We thank you Ed for your years of dedicated service!
Jon Muise was elected as our new Vice President. Welcome Aboard Jon! Bill Cobb will act as backup for Jon in the event Jon is unable to attend a VASA meeting.
Lloyd shared three thank you letters that were received from SEVCA, The Brattleboro Reformer and The Valley Lions Club thanking the SVTR for out end of year donations. You can see the letters here.
New Business:
Jon Muise suggested that the SVTR host a ride for the disabled. It was agreed that this would be a good idea and will be pursued.
One of out land owners suggested a cowboy race and offered to sponsor trophies. The seemed to be some interest in this.
Jon suggested that the SVTR put together an internet based ATV usage survey that could be sent to all of our members so that we may collect some meaningful statistical data to use in our mission to open up connector trails across state lands. The webmaster is currently working on making the survey happen.
