Hello SVTR friends and members-
Here are some highlights from November’s club meeting.
Its that time of year when the SVTR makes it annual donations to local charitable organizations. This year we decided to invite representatives from the organizations to which we were donating to attend the meeting and receive the checks.

Members of the Southern Vermont Trail Riders ATV Club annually vote to donate funds to area charities. These were distributed at the November 21, 2013 meeting held at the NewBrook Fire House in Newfane. Shown are representatives for this years recipients: Linn Williams from The Brattleboro Reformer Christmas Stocking, Kathy Squires from Townshend Community Food Shelf, Gary Lavorgna from NewBrook Fire & Rescue along with Club officers Kendall Cobb, Treasurer, Jon Muise, Vice President, Lloyd Church, President, and Ray Leeman, Secretary. A donation was also made to Townshend Fire Department.
Representatives from the Brattleboro Reformer Christmas Stocking, The NewBrook Fire Department and the Townshend Community Food Shelf attended the meeting to receive donations presented by the SVTR. Each of the representatives spoke for a few minutes to tell us about their organizations and the community memberes that they serve. It was very nice to hear exactly how our donations would benefit their organizations and our community. We also made a donation to the Townshend Volunteer Fire Department. In addition to the monetary donations, Lloyd has arranged for a delivery of 1400Lbs of butternut squash to be delivered to the Townshend Community Food Shelf this Saturday. As this is very likely more than the Food Shelf can handle, it may get shared with similar organizations in neighboring communities.
Lloyd reminded us that the hard copy of the VASA newsletter is going away as of the fiorst of the year in favor of an email version. If you would like to continue to receive the hard copy of the VASA newsletter, you will have to call or email the VASA office and ask to be put on the hard copy list. VASA can be reached at: (802) 477-5075 or office@vtvasa.org
The VASA annual meeting is scheduled for January 18 at the Elks Club in Montpelier. This year the refreshments will begin at Noon with the meeting starting at 1Pm. There will be no board of directors meeting after the annual meeting this year.
Next years VASA TAD stickers will be Yellow.
At our December 19 meeting, the SVTR will hold nomination and elections for the positions of Vice President and Club Secretary. Ray Leeman will re-run for the position of Secretary. Jon Muise will not be running for VP.
The December meeting will also be our Christmas party / pot luck. As usual, we ask that everyone bring a dish to share and a gift for the Christmas raffle. Gifts do not need to be wrapped. There will be a 50/50 raffle as well.
The club voted to once again skip the January and February meetings. The club offices will still meet during this time. If you have any business that you would like to bring up during this timeframe, contact any of the club officers in advance of the normal meeting dates (1/16/14 and 2/20/14).
